About this site

This website has been set up as a result of suggestions made at the QCC meeting of November 2005. This website is a facility for all the members of the QCC, and all ideas for developing and improving the site are welcome. Send your comments and contributions by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.

Also suggested at the last QCC meeting was the need for some means of disseminating speedily to members certain items of topical interest. One frequently hears news at the annual QCC reunion of a former colleague, which they wish they had heard earlier so they could respond in a timely manner e.g. send a get well card or attend a funeral. To cater for this need, a listserver has been set up for the use of the QCC members.

What is a Listserver?

A listserver is a facility which simplifies and facilitates communication by email between members of a specific group. It is a particularly useful way of spreading news, in that the information is sent directly to all members of the group as opposed to members having to access a web site to find and retrieve the information (of which they may not be aware).

How does it work?

Once you become a member of a particular group or list you only need to send a single email to the listserver and it will automatically distribute that email to all the members of that group or list. Joining the list requires a positive action - you will not be added without requesting to be added. Once added to the list you can unsubscribe at any time by sending an email instruction to the list server.

A listserver has been set up for the use of members of the Harlow STL Quarter Century Club. This is a private list and can only be joined by invitation.
